MATTHEW DAHLITZ
STRATEGIC & PROFESSIONAL CONSULTATION
An experienced independent perspective for professionals, entrepreneurs, creatives and experts dealing with complex problems, important decisions or ideas they want to turn into reality.
You bring the expertise.
I bring the outside perspective.
Bring me the problem. Bring me the idea. Let’s work it out.
Something isn’t working: You have a professional or business problem that you’ve been unable to resolve.
You’ve got an idea: You can see an opportunity but need help developing it into something viable.
You’re facing a decision: You’re at a crossroads and want an independent perspective before deciding what to do.
You want to build something: A book. A course. A business. A new service. A professional project. You know what you want to create — now you need to work out how to make it happen
Experience across disciplines.
A focus on what matters.
I’ve worked across psychotherapy, neuroscience, professional education, publishing, writing and business.
I’ve practised psychotherapy, taught at university, helped develop postgraduate education, established professional journals, written books, created online training and helped people develop and launch new professional ventures.
That experience has taught me to look beyond the immediate problem — to understand the people involved, identify the assumptions underneath an idea, make sense of complex information and work out what can actually be done.
I don’t need to be an expert in your particular industry. You already are. My role is to bring a different perspective to the problem.
My experience
- Psychotherapy & neuroscience — Master’s-level training and more than 15 years working in psychotherapy, neuroscience and mental-health education.
- University education — Postgraduate tutor and lecturer at several universities.
- Professional education — Co-developed a postgraduate certificate in neuropsychotherapy.
- Publishing & professional journals — Founder of several professional journals and The Science of Psychotherapy academy.
- Books & online education — Author/co-author of books on psychotherapy, neuroscience and the brain; creator of professional online training.
- Business & entrepreneurship — Developed and operated businesses across professional services, media, property and creative industries.
- Emergency services — Applied science degree and 10 years as an advanced-care paramedic, plus counselling and debriefing work.
- And, over the years, I’ve helped other people turn ideas into businesses, professional ventures, books, courses and other projects.
CLARITY
Make sense of the problem.
Complex problems are rarely as simple as they first appear. We can separate the different issues, identify what’s really important, challenge assumptions and get to the heart of what you’re trying to solve.
PERSPECTIVE
See what you might be missing.
I bring enough experience to understand your world, but enough distance to question it. I’ll challenge assumptions, identify blind spots and look at the situation from perspectives that may not be obvious from within it.
IDEAS
Develop possibilities.
You may have an idea that needs testing, refining or expanding. We can explore the possibilities, challenge the weak points and work out which ideas are worth pursuing.
ACTION
Work out what happens next.
Good ideas are only useful if something happens with them. We’ll turn the thinking into practical next steps — whether that’s developing a business, writing a book, creating a course, changing direction or tackling a difficult professional problem.
Is this the kind of conversation you’re looking for?
This consultation is for people who have something important to work through — a difficult problem, an important decision, a new idea or something they want to build.
You don’t need to have it all figured out. Bring the problem, the idea or the decision. I’ll help you work through it.

A few years ago I was going through a very tough personal situation that impacted my business, family and peace of mind. Using a holistic approach Matt helped me to understand the mind/body/spirit connection to working through trauma and seeing myself. The result was life altering. Matt helped me identify not just the immediate impacts of the circumstances, but helped me unearth the deep emotional logic that was guiding my day to day and acting as a glass ceiling over my mind and heart. Matt was the transitional expert that helped me frame trauma into an opportunity to become a new version of me. I would recommend Matt, as a bespoke mentor who understands life in its brutal rough and tumble, and has a solid approach to helping people find a way through the maize of pressure and confusion that presents. Matt is an excellent listener, and the guy to see the big picture view of life and reality. Again nothing but a big thank you for the lifeline you threw me in my drowning moment. Flying higher now with no excess baggage.
Matthew has been a constant source of practical wisdom, strategies, courage and inspiration in my life for more than a decade. From developing business strategies for my start-ups to helping me navigate the challenges of parenting teens, Matthew gives an empathetic ear and sage insight. His ability to absorb overwhelming amounts of complex information and simplify it into workable pieces that can be clearly articulated and actioned, is his superpower.
Whether you’re ‘stuck’ in the thick of something or looking out at a sea of opportunity and potential, Matthew can help you find and define your next step and equip you to move forward with confidence and character.
I highly recommend Matthew as a man of integrity who can help you realise your truth worth and value to the world.

Not only has he shown keen insights into the nuances of neuroscience and psychotherapy, but his knowledge of how social systems can work together for greater harmony is impressive. With humility, competence, and a keen ability to articulate complex subjects to a practical end, he will continue to be a great asset to any organization.

I highly value Matthews specialised field of work. His practiced knowledge is outstanding, but his humble authenticity, his loyalty, trustworthiness and sincerity to making people’s lives better is a quality that surpasses many. I would most highly recommend Matthew.
I was fortunate enough to work with Matt in the early stages of my business journey. He helped me understand how to position myself in a very competitive market with had paid dividends over the years. His knowledge of storytelling was really helpful in defining our ‘why’ and origin stories. This has been the cornerstone for much of our marketing and values over the years. Matt is extraordinary on so many levels, as his bio shows. He will provide tremendous value to anyone serious about business progress and personal development.
Matthew Dahlitz’s expertise in psychotherapy, neuroscience, and well-being has been instrumental in advancing my work.
